It may not be Throw Back Thursday, but I am going to take you back for a minute to my college days. I will spare you from the details of my wild ways as an 18-year-old-free-spirit who loved to go to "social gatherings" and rarely made my 8am classes. I felt in those days that I struggled a bit as to where my true calling was. There were so many things I loved but I could not channel what I wanted to do as my career. I remember sitting with my roommate, Kendra Wilhelm (owner of Southern Sisters Photography), on the couch in our pajamas talking about our futures. We were both dreamers. Her dream was to be an entrepreneur. She always had this look of determination in her eyes and I knew she was going to be successful at whatever she put her mind to. My dream was weddings. I was not sure why I was so drawn to them, but I knew there was something magical about them. We joked about starting our own wedding venue together and even went as far as defining what our roles would be. It's funny how life works and years down the road we ended up finding our passion in the same place...photography.
Kendra, who is now 8 months pregnant found herself needing a second shooter for an upcoming wedding and I was honored to shoot along side Karley, Kendra's younger sister, for the Royal Wedding.
The Royal Wedding was a decorated with beautiful rustic lanterns, and soft florals. Attention to detail was not lacking as Lindsey and Jayson personalized their wedding with monogrammed napkins, koozies, a unique "guest book", photos of their loved ones, water bottle labels, signs, and even their favorite lawn games to entertain guests. Their family and friends truly made me feel so comfortable and a part of their day. Every wedding I shoot brings me back to those feelings I had long ago...back in my college days. The love, the family, the friends, the magic in the air...I can't get enough. Here is a look at the Royal wedding:
